Senior Agentic AI Engineer
Transformativ, LLC is seeking an exceptional Senior Agentic AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-grade agentic AI solutions for complex enterprise business environments.
This is a hands-on engineering role, not a traditional data science, chatbot, or project-management position. We are looking for someone who can personally architect and build sophisticated AI agent systems while also working effectively with senior business leaders, enterprise architects, and technical teams.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in modern agentic AI with experience delivering technology solutions in a major consulting, technology, or Fortune 500 enterprise environment.
What You’ll Do
- Architect and build production-grade agentic and multi-agent AI systems for complex enterprise workflows.
- Design agent orchestration patterns involving planning, reasoning, tool use, state management, memory, delegation, and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Build agents that securely interact with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, documents, and other business systems.
- Develop solutions using frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or comparable agent orchestration technologies.
- Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) and other approaches for secure tool and system integration.
- Work with leading LLM platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, Gemini, Azure OpenAI, and/or AWS Bedrock.
- Design evaluation, testing, observability, guardrail, security, and governance mechanisms for production AI agents.
- Develop primarily in Python and integrate AI systems with APIs, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise platforms.
- Translate complex business processes and requirements into practical agentic architectures.
- Participate directly in technical and business discussions with senior client stakeholders.
- Rapidly prototype solutions and then mature successful concepts into secure, reliable production systems.
- Use modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or comparable coding agents where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant hands-on experience designing and deploying production AI/GenAI systems.
- Demonstrated experience building agentic or multi-agent systems, not simply chatbots or standalone RAG applications.
- Strong Python development and software architecture skills.
- Experience integrating AI agents with APIs, tools, databases, and enterprise applications.
- Strong knowledge of LLM orchestration, tool/function calling, context engineering, RAG, and agent state/workflow management.
- Experience with cloud-based enterprise deployments using AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Understanding of AI evaluation, observability, security, governance, and responsible AI practices.
- Experience delivering technology solutions within a large enterprise or major consulting environment. Experience with organizations such as Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, EY, Accenture, IBM, McKinsey/BCG or comparable Fortune 500 environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both executives and engineers.
- A strong record of personally building technology—not simply managing teams that perform the engineering.
Important
This position is intended for an experienced, hands-on AI engineer or architect. Candidates whose experience is primarily traditional machine learning, data science, analytics, chatbot development, or AI project management without substantial hands-on agentic engineering experience are unlikely to be a fit.
Candidates who advance in the selection process will be asked to complete technical assessments designed to validate hands-on AI engineering and problem-solving capabilities.
Location & Engagement
Dallas–Fort Worth area strongly preferred. The role may involve client meetings, onsite work, and travel as required.
This is an independent contractor (1099) engagement with Transformativ, LLC.
Candidates must be U.S.-based and authorized to work in the United States for the applicable client engagement. Transformativ does not provide employment sponsorship for this engagement.
