We are looking for a Chief Software Engineer to build a next-generation AI-powered financial assistant platform that rapidly iterates with business users to deliver chat, reporting, and bespoke interfaces for investment workflows. You will lead hands-on engineering across design and delivery in a small, high-autonomy team.
Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of an AI-powered assistant platform from concept to production

Design scalable service architectures and define reliability, security, and performance requirements

Build backend APIs and services in Python using FastAPI to support chat and reporting workflows

Integrate LLM capabilities and apply AI-assisted development methods to accelerate delivery
-
Translate high-level goals into detailed requirements, edge cases, and implementation plans
-
Collaborate directly with business users to test, refine, and ship iterative product improvements
-
Implement automated testing, observability, and incident-ready practices to maintain quality
-
Deploy and operate services using cloud infrastructure and container orchestration
-
Review code and enforce engineering standards for maintainability and correctness

Mentor engineers and drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence
Requirements

7+ years of experience in software engineering with advanced Python development

7+ years of experience building and shipping backend services using modern frameworks (FastAPI preferred)

Senior leadership skills to drive technical decisions, set quality bars, and mentor engineers

Strong project ownership to take loosely defined problems from discovery through delivery

Expert system design skills to define architecture, edge cases, and reliability strategies

Strong cloud infrastructure skills with Amazon Web Services in production environments

Strong platform engineering skills with Kubernetes-based deployments

Strong infrastructure as code skills with Terraform
-
Strong AI engineering skills with Large Language Models (LLM) and Gen AI Assisted Development workflows

High autonomy and self-governance to gather low-level requirements and deliver independently

Strong communication skills to collaborate with highly technical stakeholders

Willingness to learn and adopt new languages and tools in a fast-paced environment
