Registered Nurse – Residential Group Homes

Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing support across several residential group homes throughout Southern Maine.
This is a field-based nursing position where the nurse will travel between multiple residential locations to provide medication administration, medication documentation and review, nursing oversight, and supervision.
Each residential home supports two residents, with 1–2 caregivers present at all times. The nurse will work collaboratively with caregivers and other members of the care team to ensure residents receive safe, consistent, and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel between assigned residential group homes throughout the service area.
- Administer and oversee medications according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Review Medication Administration Records (MARs)/medication books for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Monitor medication administration practices and identify/document discrepancies or concerns.
- Provide nursing assessments and follow up on residents' health needs as appropriate.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and support to caregivers regarding residents' care.
- Communicate with caregivers, providers, pharmacies, families, and other members of the care team as needed.
- Monitor changes in residents' condition and determine when additional medical attention or intervention may be necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Help ensure residential homes remain compliant with applicable nursing, medication, and safety requirements.
- Provide education and direction to caregivers when appropriate.
- Respond to nursing concerns and help coordinate follow-up care.
Residential Setting
The position will support approximately 12 residential group homes, with two residents per home.
Locations include:
- Biddeford: 2 homes
- Saco: 2 homes
- Sanford: 1 home
- Waterboro: 1 home
- Westbrook: 2 homes
- Windham: 1 home
- Auburn: 2 homes
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine.
- Previous nursing experience preferred.
- Experience with medication administration and medication documentation strongly preferred.
- Experience working with individuals in residential, group home, behavioral health, developmental disability, or community-based settings is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple locations.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between residential locations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with caregivers and other healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional approach to resident care.
