Meet Slingshot

At Slingshot Aerospace, we're on a mission to make space safer and more secure for everyone. Our work directly impacts global security, disaster response, climate monitoring, and the critical infrastructure that connects our world. We're a team of builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers who believe that the next generation of space operations will be powered by better data and smarter software.

We move fast, we're not afraid to fail, and we believe the best ideas can come from anywhere—whether you're in engineering, sales, product, or operations. If you want to work on something that truly matters, with people who care deeply about the impact we're making and help shape the future of an industry that's just getting started, you're in the right place.

What You’ll Be Launching

As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you’ll own full-cycle recruiting for some of Slingshot’s most critical technical roles across Engineering and Technology. You’ll partner closely with engineering leaders to understand what their teams are building, translate complex technical needs into thoughtful recruiting strategies, and find exceptional talent in highly competitive markets.

This is not a role where you’ll simply take a job description and execute against it. We’re looking for someone who can become a trusted advisor to technical leaders, challenge assumptions when needed, bring talent market insights and data to the table, and independently drive searches from kickoff through close.

You’ll operate in an environment where priorities can shift quickly and the path forward is not always perfectly defined. You should be comfortable working through ambiguity, gathering the right information, assessing tradeoffs, and using data and sound judgment to make informed decisions. We want someone who knows when to move independently and when a situation requires additional partnership or escalation.

Strong processes matter to us. You’ll be expected to understand and consistently follow our recruiting practices while also recognizing opportunities to make them better. The right person understands that speed and process are not mutually exclusive and knows how to move quickly without sacrificing quality, consistency, candidate experience, or good judgment.

We're building a team of sharp, creative people who love solving hard problems. We value curiosity over ego, initiative over waiting for permission, and people who genuinely care about doing great work. Bring your expertise, your fresh ideas, and your drive. We'll bring the rocket fuel.

Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It)

-

Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles across Engineering and Technology, from hiring kickoff through accepted offer

-

Partner with engineering leaders to deeply understand their teams, technical challenges, hiring needs, and what great talent looks like

-

Build and execute sourcing strategies for difficult-to-find technical talent rather than relying primarily on inbound applicants

-

Develop enough technical fluency to confidently evaluate candidate backgrounds and communicate credibly with candidates and engineering stakeholders

-

Serve as a talent advisor to hiring managers, bringing market data, pipeline insights, and recommendations that help leaders make better hiring decisions

-

Use recruiting data, market insights, and pipeline trends to make informed decisions and adjust search strategies when needed

-

Push back and recalibrate with hiring managers when requirements, compensation, process, or market conditions are limiting a search

-

Navigate ambiguity and changing priorities by gathering the right information, assessing tradeoffs, and determining the best path forward

-

Exercise sound judgment independently while recognizing when additional input, partnership, or escalation is needed

-

Follow established recruiting processes consistently and maintain strong documentation and attention to detail throughout the hiring process

-

Identify risks, blockers, or unusual situations early and proactively bring in the appropriate partners rather than allowing issues to linger

-

Build strong pipelines through direct sourcing, referrals, networking, and creative talent mapping

-

Deliver a high-touch candidate experience with clear, timely communication throughout the hiring process

-

Partner closely with People, Compensation, Legal, Security, and other internal teams to navigate complex hiring situations

-

Manage multiple searches and competing priorities while proactively communicating progress, risks, and changes to stakeholders

-

Help raise the bar for recruiting at Slingshot by sharing best practices, identifying opportunities for improvement, and contributing to broader Talent initiatives

-

Maintain accurate and timely candidate and requisition data in our ATS

-

-

Strong judgment and demonstrated ability to make thoughtful decisions in situations where there may not be an obvious or predefined answer
