Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Firearms Store Manager to lead our retail team in providing exceptional customer service and expert firearm knowledge. This dynamic role involves overseeing daily store operations, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and driving sales growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for firearms and outdoor activities, and a commitment to creating a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff alike. Duties
- Lead daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) transactions
- Manage inventory control, purchasing, stocking, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales and minimize shrinkage
- Supervise staff recruitment, onboarding, training & development, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local firearm laws and safety regulations at all times
- Provide expert customer service by assisting with firearm selections, answering product questions, and resolving issues promptly
- Oversee employee orientation programs to promote product knowledge and safety protocols
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and safety procedures
Experience
- Proven management experience in retail settings, preferably with firearms or outdoor sporting goods stores
- Demonstrated supervisory skills with experience in team management and employee development
- Strong background in retail math, inventory management, merchandising, and POS systems
- Experience with recruiting, interviewing candidates, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Familiarity with retail sales techniques such as negotiation, upselling, and marketing strategies
- Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in a retail environment is highly desirable
