Dust Studios LA is a full-service photography studio and equipment rental house located in the heart of West Hollywood. We have five photo studios and an on-site rental house equipped with lighting, grip and production supplies. We cater to a diverse roster of clients in the fashion, beauty and entertainment industries.

We are currently seeking a skilled Photo Equipment Team Member to join our equipment team. The EQ Team Member will be responsible for packing equipment orders, delivering orders to location, and maintaining equipment for Dust Studios. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of lighting and grip equipment, studio photography experience, and excellent customer service skills.

Hours & Schedule

- Full-Time, 40+ hours a week*

- Afternoon / closing shift, Monday-Saturday (5 days a week, 2 days off)

- Must be available to work on the weekends

- Hours: 2:00-10:30 PM, overtime in busy seasons*

Job Duties

- Flip studios – Prepare and wrap equipment orders in all five studios, ensuring equipment is staged appropriately and presentable for clients

- Flip vehicles – Load and unload cargo vans, sprinter vans, and box trucks with equipment orders for pick up or delivery to location

- Pull, verify, and stage location equipment orders for client pickup in the equipment room

- Receive, clean, test and inventory equipment, ensuring all is accounted for and in good working order

- Drive company vehicles to deliver and pick up equipment orders from clients on location

- Pick up and return sub-rented equipment to vendors in a timely manner

- Facilitate same-day additions and equipment requests for clients in the studios

- Ensure the equipment room is clean, organized and optimized at all times

- Review and update order information, utilizing company software

- Communicate with team members, supervisors and managers to ensure a smooth workflow

- Assist clients with requests and relay information to appropriate departments

- Troubleshoot and resolve problems in an appropriate and professional manner

- Follow safety policies, procedures, and regulations

- Maintain a professional, high-quality, service-oriented environment

- Ensure that all production/operations are conducted in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations such as OSHA, and CalOSHA

Qualifications

- 2+ years of relevant photography experience

- Equipment rental house or photography studio experience preferred

- Experience working with photography equipment (camera, lighting, grip, digital, etc.)

- Knowledge of basic grip equipment (c-stands, rollers, cardellinis, etc.)

- Knowledge of different lighting systems (strobe and continuous)

- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) & Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets)

- Self-motivated, with a growth mindset and desire to learn

- Team-focused, prioritizes their team’s successes and values collaboration

- Creative problem-solver, able to think quickly and resolve problems as they arise

- Trustworthy, values and demonstrates honesty & integrity in all interactions

- Strong communicator, with a friendly and approachable demeanor

- People-person, enjoys building relationships and serving others

- Adaptable, able to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced, changing environment

- Experience driving sprinter vans or box trucks (or willingness to learn)

- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

- Local to Los Angeles or the Los Angeles greater area

- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
