POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for delivery of finished goods to and from customers in a professional and safe manner. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting in the general shipping and receiving operations of the shipping department for both Commercial and Container divisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate and drive a semi truck safely and professionally to transport parts.
Operate forklift to efficiently transport material, parts or load / unload parts from trucks.
Perform daily safety checks on equipment.
Properly secure loads for safe transport.
Prepare and package loads.
Understand and incorporate Paccar packaging requirements for all applicable orders as well as other major OEM customers.
Review and execute special procedures for Hawaii and Alaska Packaging requirements.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards by visually inspecting and properly identifying all parts or materials staged for shipment.
Interface with customers and other shop personnel in a professional manner.
Other duties as assigned, including help with production operations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a (CDL) Class A Endorsement on driver’s license.
Must have at least 2 years of experience driving semi trucks and trailers on the road.
Knowledge of DOT regulations.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Have basic computer skills.
Must be able speak and understand English.
Have good communication skills (written and oral).
Must be able to multitask and work in a production environment.
Must demonstrate safety conscious behavior.
Excellent attendance required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 50lbs occasionally.
Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
Sit, stand, walk and drive for 1 10 hours per day.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Work in a fastpaced industrial environment wearing required PPE.
