Job Description

The Distribution Specialist is responsible for coordinating the transportation, distribution, and inventory management of agricultural products to customers within assigned territories. This role serves as a key liaison between distribution partners, carriers, warehouse teams, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. The Distribution Specialist monitors shipments, manages inventory levels, supports logistics process improvements, and ensures compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Accountabilities:

Coordinate the transportation, distribution, and delivery of agricultural products by collaborating with carriers, suppliers, warehouse teams, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient product movement.

Monitor and track shipments, inventory levels, and customer orders, proactively resolving issues to maintain service levels and product availability.

Manage TruBulk inventories, conditioning schedules, and customer shipments while ensuring accurate inventory records and transaction documentation.

-
Partner with site leadership and production teams to align distribution activities with production schedules and customer demand requirements.

-
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with transportation providers, suppliers, warehouse personnel, and internal business partners to support operational excellence.

Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance logistics efficiency, optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve customer experience.

Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards, and manage inbound and outbound scale operations, including the accuracy of scale tickets and shipping documentation.

Qualifications

-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

-
Minimum of 3 years of experience in distribution, logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, supply chain, or a related field.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Basic knowledge of SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

-
Experience coordinating shipments and managing multiple logistics activities simultaneously.

-
Ability to use logistics software, inventory management systems, or warehouse management systems for shipment tracking and inventory control.

Desired Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Agriculture, or a related field.

Experience supporting agricultural, seed, grain, or manufacturing distribution operations.

Knowledge of transportation regulations, freight management, and supply chain best practices.

Experience working with inventory control, warehouse operations, and customer delivery coordination.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.

Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, carriers, and external partners.
