SUMMARY
Assist in the coordination and management of TICO’s off-port fleet operations, supporting customer locations and regional equipment needs outside of terminal operations. Responsible for supporting fleet readiness, utilization, equipment visibility, customer service, and operational efficiency across multiple locations.
This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Transportation, and customers to ensure equipment is properly allocated, serviced, and available to meet operational demands.
Initial onboarding and training will take place at the Garden City Terminal (GCT) location alongside terminal leadership. Following onboarding, the employee will transition to the corporate office for continued development with fleet leadership.
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
During onboarding at GCT, the Assistant Fleet Manager will gain exposure to:
- Transportation coordination, fleet movement, and equipment allocation
- Daily operational lifecycle of terminal tractors and support equipment
- Maintenance and fleet management software used for reporting, PM tracking, downtime analysis, and utilization monitoring
- Preventive maintenance processes and equipment readiness expectations
- Customer meetings, communication standards, and service expectations
- Billing support processes, engine hour tracking, and operational reporting
- KPI reporting, telematics platforms such as Geotab, and asset lifecycle planning
- Coordination between Operations, Maintenance, Fuel, and administrative teams
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in managing TICO’s off-port terminal tractor fleet and related equipment across customer and satellite locations
- Coordinate equipment allocation, transfers, and fleet utilization to support operational demands
- Monitor fleet readiness and work with Operations and Maintenance teams to maximize equipment availability
- Utilize telematics platforms such as Geotab to monitor utilization, idle time, location tracking, and operational performance
- Support asset lifecycle planning including utilization analysis, equipment rotation, and replacement forecasting
- Assist with customer billing support through review of engine hours, utilization, downtime, and rental activity
- Support TICO’s DOT compliance efforts by assisting with transportation documents, permitting coordination, recordkeeping, and equipment movement requirements to maintain good operational standing
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal departments
- Participate in customer meetings and operational reviews
- Analyze operational data to improve fleet efficiency and customer service
- Maintain accurate operational and fleet records
- Respond to operational issues and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Travel between terminals, customer locations, and company facilities as needed
- Support company safety policies, reporting requirements, and operational procedures
- Maintain a professional and safety-focused work environment

ADDITIONAL OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support oversight of TICO’s off-port equipment operations across multiple customer locations throughout Georgia, South Carolina, and surrounding operational areas.
- Assist with customer billing, including utilization tracking, engine hour reporting, damage billing, fuel charge allocation, and operational documentation.
- Maintain accurate records related to tractor and trailer locations, equipment status, servicing schedules, and operational movement.
- Support coordination of equipment breakdowns both locally and out of town, including vendor communication, repair coordination, parts ordering, and equipment swap decisions.
- Work with Operations and Transportation personnel to coordinate movement of equipment between customer locations and service facilities.
- Assist in rotating equipment through service locations to support preventive maintenance and fleet readiness initiatives.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships through professional communication, operational support, and timely response to service-related concerns.
- Support fuel program administration, reporting, and operational tracking as required.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support daily operational needs, customer service expectations, and overall fleet performance.
