COMPANY OVERVIEW

NXT Business Solutions is a South African manufacturer and innovator producing medical technology and clean-energy products, including UVC germ-killing robots, antimicrobial sporicidal curtains, solar panels, and pillows. As our manufacturing operations grow, we are looking for reliable, hands-on General Workers to join our production and warehouse team.

JOB PURPOSE

The General Worker supports day-to-day production and warehouse operations across medical robot assembly, curtain manufacturing and quality inspection, stock picking and dispatch, and general housekeeping. The role requires accuracy, safety-consciousness, and the ability to follow established procedures under supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Medical Robot Assembly and Support

- Assist with the assembly of medical robots according to established procedures and instructions.

- Assist with the preparation of wiring harnesses and miscellaneous components required for assembly.

- Prepare and organise components and materials for the assembly process.

- Assist with testing of completed robots.

- Identify and report any faults, defects, or issues identified during testing or assembly.

- Assist with basic troubleshooting and corrective actions as directed by the supervisor or technical team.

- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area during the assembly process.

- Handle components carefully to prevent damage or contamination.

2. Curtain Manufacturing and Quality Inspection

- Sort raw materials according to the required colours and specifications.

- Prepare materials for the manufacturing process.

- Inspect raw materials for defects before they are loaded into the manufacturing machine.

- Remove or report any defective materials identified during the inspection process.

- Remove completed curtains from the machine safely.

- Inspect finished curtains for defects, including torn or damaged material, broken or missing eyelets, and other visible manufacturing defects.

- Apply the relevant QR code sticker to each curtain after inspection.

- Fold and package finished curtains into the correct boxes.

- Apply the required manufacturing date sticker to each box.

- Ensure that finished products are correctly labelled, packaged, and ready for dispatch.

3. Stock Picking and Dispatch

- Pick physical stock from the designated storage areas when customer orders are received.

- Ensure that the correct products, quantities, and specifications are selected.

- Complete the required picklist accurately for every order.

- Check picked items against the relevant order or picklist before packaging.

- Pack all items securely into the appropriate boxes.

- Hand completed orders over for waybill creation.

- Move completed and processed orders to the designated dispatch area.

- Maintain an organised and accurate stock-picking area.

- Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods, or missing items to the relevant supervisor.

4. Housekeeping and Workplace Maintenance

- Perform daily housekeeping duties within the production, warehouse, and work areas.

- Sweep and mop floors at the end of each working day.

- Keep workstations clean, neat, and organised throughout the day.

- Ensure tools, equipment, materials, and components are returned to their designated areas after use.

- Dispose of waste and production materials in the correct manner.

- Maintain good housekeeping standards in accordance with company health and safety requirements.

5. General Duties

- Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

- Follow instructions provided by supervisors and managers.

- Use tools, equipment, and machinery responsibly and safely.

- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) where applicable.

- Maintain a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Meet required production, quality, and dispatch deadlines.

- Work cooperatively with colleagues and other departments.

- Report damaged products, equipment, or materials to the relevant supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Grade 12 / Matric (or equivalent) preferred.

- Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or warehouse environment is advantageous.

- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.

- Basic numeracy skills for stock counts, picklists, and labelling.

- Physically fit and able to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.

- Willingness to work overtime or shifts when operationally required.

- No criminal record; clear background check may be required.
