This role helps shape how Siemens is seen and understood in the rail sector in the UK and Ireland. You’ll lead marketing and communications activity for Siemens Mobility’s rolling stock, customer services and rail infrastructure businesses, supporting clear engagement with government, public-sector customers and key stakeholders.

As the industry prepares for rail reform and the establishment of Great British Railways (GBR), you’ll translate complex political, regulatory and funding environments into clear narratives, integrated campaigns and strategic guidance, supporting both today’s priorities and the future of rail.

The role sits within Siemens’ global Marketing & Communications organisation, with a functional reporting line into Siemens Mobility Business Communications Head, and clear accountability to the local UK & Ireland management team.

You‘ll make a difference by

-
Acting as a senior political and public-sector advisor to the UK & Ireland leadership team, translating political priorities, regulatory frameworks and funding dynamics into clear strategic guidance and positioning.

-
Identifying critical political, regulatory and societal issues and turning them into integrated communications and marketing strategies, from thought leadership and issue-based messaging to customer-facing and sales-supporting campaigns.

-
Defining and delivering a regional marketing and communications strategy aligned with global priorities and local business objectives, ensuring relevance in a complex stakeholder environment.

-
Leading communications for high-profile, politically sensitive moments such as government and customer roundtables, site openings, transformation milestones, major industry events and product launches.

-
Building, leading and developing a regional team of marketing communications professionals, combining strategic leadership with hands-on ownership of priority initiatives.

-
Supporting key tender activity by providing clear messaging, customer-focused content and marketing materials that help position Siemens Mobility’s products and services effectively.

-
Delivering integrated, data-driven campaigns that balance storytelling, earned media and digital-first activation, using AI-enabled tools and performance metrics to maximise impact within constrained budgets.

-
Leading key stakeholder-facing channels and formats, delivering measurable impact while aligning with Siemens’ global brand positioning and collaborating closely with Siemens plc and wider corporate communications teams.

What you’ll bring

-
Deep experience across political, regulatory and public‑sector environments, with the ability to translate policy, funding and societal context into clear positioning, narratives and integrated marketing and communications strategies.

-
Credibility as a trusted senior advisor, with sound judgement, discretion and resilience when navigating politically sensitive, reputational and strategic issues.

-
Confidence leading high‑profile stakeholder engagement, including government-facing events, industry forums and moments of increased public or political scrutiny.

-
Strong people leadership capability, with experience building, developing and motivating high‑performing teams in regional and matrixed organisations.

-
Expertise in delivering integrated, data‑driven campaigns across owned, earned and digital channels, underpinned by a commercial, customer‑centric mindset and clear performance measurement.

-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to simplify complex issues and influence diverse audiences.
