A large logistics and distribution business is looking for an experienced technical professional to join the team. The successful candidate will ensure that automated systems operate at peak efficiency to maintain operational flow. This role involves exploring data from control systems and sensors to maximize equipment availability across multiple regional sites.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair issues with key automated systems and material handling equipment.
- Provide data visualisations of troubleshooting activities to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and maintain accurate backup libraries and system documentation.
- Collaborate with international colleagues to install and commission new equipment.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to develop improvement strategies for code conforming to IEC 61131-3.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a production environment.
- An Engineering Degree, HND, HNC, or a fully accredited apprenticeship with relevant follow-on qualifications.
- Technical experience supporting a wide range of conveyor and sortation systems.
- Ability to travel between regional sites approximately 50% of the time.
- Fluency in English and proficiency with professional office software or project management tools.
