The team you will be a part of
The Software Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development/troubleshooting or debugging of moderately complex software programs for enhancements and new products. Performs high-level design/modeling to convert stakeholder needs into software solutions. Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design. Develops the architectural guidelines, specifications, and technical standards and communicates to stakeholders.
This Role In Summary
In this role, the candidate will work in a global cross-functional team to design, implement and integrate firmware with Hardware and system, to achieve attribute and product performance targets.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Execute core software lifecycle activities, translating requirements into software functional specifications through to product-level testing, firmware design, implementation, and unit testing.
- Develop high-quality software and firmware in C, C++ or Javascript.
- Partner with hardware engineers during MCU selection, schematic reviews, and PCB bring-up to ensure seamless hardware/software integration.
- Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading code reviews, establishing firmware best practices, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Understands basic electronics hardware troubleshooting
Minimum Requirements
- Education: B.S. in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering (or a related field).
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software/firmware engineering.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert-level proficiency in C programming for resource-constrained embedded systems.
- Advanced knowledge and professional experience with at least one OoO language (preferably C++ or Javascript)
- Should be familiar with different type of IDEs emulators, Debuggers etc
- Hardware Debugging: Proven ability to analyze datasheets and reference documentation, build test setups, and debug hardware issues independently.
- Should be comfortable using oscilloscopes, DMM h/w troubleshooting tools
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Skills And Experiences
- Electrical or Electronic Engineering master’s degree
- Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508) and developing safety-critical firmware.
- Understanding or exposure to IOT, WiFi, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Familiarity with continuous integration and test
- Ability to work cross functionally and globally.
- Capable of working independently with cross functional teams and to provide updates to the leadership through effective communication. Should be able to negotiate and influence technical and non-technical audiences
- A passion for applying latest technologies into the development of innovative features and products
- A collaborative attitude and strong desire to succeed as part of the team.
