A wrong revision or a missing approval shows up on a production line, and eventually in someone’s kitchen.
As a Change Control Specialist, you coordinate and administer engineering change control and product data management across the product lifecycle — keeping product structures, engineering documentation, Bills of Material and change records accurate and released on time inside the PLM and ERP systems.
Working with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Project teams, you coordinate the review, approval and release of engineering changes. This is a hybrid role based in Monterrey.
You don’t need an engineering degree for this role. What matters is practical experience inside an engineering or manufacturing environment, supporting or administering change-control processes.
What You'll Do
- Administer Change Requests (CRs) and Change Notices (CNs) from initiation through release.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather the information, approvals and documentation each change requires.
- Maintain product information in the PLM system: BOMs, part attributes, revisions and effectivity dates.
- Create and update BOMs following established processes and work instructions.
- Support the synchronization of engineering information between PLM and ERP systems.
- Review engineering data for completeness and accuracy before release.
- Maintain revision-controlled documentation and support product configuration and traceability.
- Support documentation for packaging and labeling, plus new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining engineering.
- Communicate change status and follow up with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain.
- Identify data inconsistencies, incomplete documentation or missing approvals, and escalate or resolve them.
- Support continuous improvement of change and product data processes.
What You Bring
- Around 5 years in engineering change control, product data or configuration management, document control, BOM management or manufacturing engineering support.
- Direct experience administering or supporting formal engineering changes: ECOs, ECNs, ECRs, Change Requests or Change Notices. This one is required.
- Experience creating, updating, maintaining or validating Bills of Material (BOMs). Also required.
- Confidence with part numbers, revisions, product structures and change records.
- Experience with an ERP system such as Oracle, SAP or equivalent.
- Experience coordinating approvals across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Purchasing.
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills, and the ability to work independently within established processes.
- A valid U.S. tourist visa (B1/B2), and availability to travel to the United States for an initial training period of roughly one to two months.
Nice to Have
- A PLM/PDM system such as Windchill or Teamcenter.
- Configuration management experience.
- Exposure to NPI, product launches or sustaining engineering.
- CAD experience with Creo, SolidWorks or similar — a plus, definitely not a requirement.
