Pre-K 4 Teacher

Job Overview

We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Pre-K 4 Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging classroom where young learners can grow, explore, and develop a love of learning.

The Pre-K 4 Teacher is responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate, play-based learning environment that supports each child's academic, social-emotional, physical, and developmental growth. This role focuses on building foundational skills in early literacy, math, communication, motor development, independence, and positive social interactions while preparing students for a successful transition to kindergarten.

The ideal candidate is patient, creative, enthusiastic about early childhood education, and committed to creating a safe and supportive classroom where every child feels valued and encouraged to learn.

Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for Pre-K 4 students

- Implement state early learning standards, school curriculum, and required assessments

- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, play, and hands-on learning

- Support the development of early literacy, language, math, fine and gross motor, and social-emotional skills

- Incorporate music, movement, storytelling, art, centers, and group activities into daily instruction

- Establish consistent classroom routines and age-appropriate behavior expectations

- Monitor and assess student development and adjust instruction based on individual needs

- Maintain accurate records of student progress, development, and assessment results

- Provide differentiated support for students with varying learning and developmental needs

- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and areas of growth

- Build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and school leadership

- Collaborate with special education staff and other support professionals to meet the needs of all learners

- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment

- Submit lesson plans and other required documentation within established timelines

- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and family engagement activities

- Assist with arrival, dismissal, supervision, and other assigned school duties

Qualifications & Desired Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred

- Previous experience working with preschool or early childhood students preferred

- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate teaching practices

- Strong classroom management and communication skills

- Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for young children

- Ability to work collaboratively with families, teachers, administrators, and support staff

- Comfortable using age-appropriate technology and digital learning tools when beneficial to instruction

- Patient, dependable, energetic, and passionate about helping young children learn and grow

- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and learn new instructional strategies
