Its projects include robotic cells, precision assembly systems, and multi-station automation lines. Increasing revenue and project volume are driving an expansion of the engineering team.
About the Role:
This Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead custom automation projects from concept through installation. The position combines hands-on machine design with responsibility for customer requirements, detailed design progress, and coordination across engineering, procurement, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop concepts, system layouts, machine assemblies, and complex station designs in SolidWorks.
- Lead customer design reviews and manage requirements, schedules, costs, and changes in project scope.
- Guide designers and detailers, and review drawing packages and bills of materials.
- Coordinate with controls engineers, procurement, and production throughout the build.
- Oversee equipment debugging, testing, customer acceptance testing, shipment, and installation.
- Manage multiple projects while keeping technical deliverables on schedule.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant machine design and project experience.
- Experience designing at least five automated systems, from concept through installation.
- At least three years of SolidWorks experience; AutoCAD experience is valued.
- Strong background in custom machinery, assembly automation, or OEM equipment.
- Confident working directly with customers and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working closely with the shop floor.
- Able to work onsite in Hudson, New Hampshire.
