Are you an experienced System Engineer who wants to do more than simply operate systems? This is an opportunity to take real technical ownership across a complex Microsoft and Citrix environment, influence architecture and standards, and drive automation and modernisation across the platform.
Our client is an established Swiss technology organisation with a strong focus on high-quality IT services and customer satisfaction. As part of the Smart Workplace team, you will take responsibility for the operation and continued development of their Microsoft On-Premises platform and Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops environment, working closely with Network, Security and other technical teams.
You will lead technical projects from conception through migration, modernisation and go-live, while also taking ownership of complex 2nd and 3rd level incidents. Alongside day-to-day operations, you will define and document standards, improve operational processes and drive sustainable solutions across the infrastructure.
A key part of the role will be increasing automation and standardisation using PowerShell and Configuration Management, while contributing to IAM/PAM initiatives and ITIL-based Incident, Problem and Change processes. You will also have the opportunity to influence architectural decisions and share your knowledge with an experienced team of Senior Engineers.
The ideal candidate will bring several years of experience in Microsoft On-Premises environments, strong knowledge of Windows Server, Domain infrastructure and Active Directory, alongside solid experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops and ADC. An IT qualification such as EFZ or equivalent is expected, with HF/FH further education advantageous, while excellent German is essential.
In return, you will have genuine technical responsibility, significant freedom to shape architecture and standards, flexible annual working hours, hybrid working, individual professional development and a highly experienced technical team. The organisation also offers modern workplace facilities including an on-site gym, relaxation room and internal cafeteria.
