Field of activity:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) area is at the heart of the Information Technology division of Deutsche Börse Group. The CTO area develops and operates the group-wide IT infrastructure (network, data centers and cloud), the Group Data & Advanced Analytics and the Enterprise Architecture which significantly contribute to Deutsche Börse Group overall strategy. The CTO area drives digitais transformation and leverages innovation while keeping production operations stable are the core pillars of the shared services.
We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team supporting DBG Marketplace and other strategic cloud initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, building, and operating cloud platform services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Working closely with development teams, architects, and security specialists, you will deliver scalable, secure, and automated cloud solutions that enable product teams to develop and operate applications efficiently.
Tasks/responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate cloud platform services and shared infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Build and operate Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud-native services.
- Develop automation tooling and platform services using Go (Golang) and scripting languages.
- Manage cloud networking, identity and access management, and platform security controls.
- Monitor platform health, improve observability, and ensure reliability and performance.
- Drive cloud security initiatives and promote secure engineering practices across the platform.
- Participate in cloud governance forums, architecture reviews, and cross-functional cloud working groups.
- Support the remediation and closure of audit, risk, and BaFin-related findings.
- Create and maintain platform standards, documentation, and operational best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, SRE, or related roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience designing and operating Kubernetes-based platforms
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture and services
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Solid knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability solutions
- Experience with Linux administration in cloud environments
- Understanding of cloud networking concepts, including DNS, load balancing, and connectivity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in agile teams (Scrum/Kanban)
- Good written and spoken English
Highly desirable:
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate build, test, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning workflows. Or comparable automation platforms
- Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and policy enforcement
- Experience operating multi-project or enterprise-scale GCP environments
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices
- Experience with service mesh, API gateways, or platform networking solutions
- Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization practices
- Experience supporting regulated financial services environments
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g. Google Professional Cloud Engineer)
