Senior Software Engineer – Production & Device Integration
A fast-growing robotics company is building a new Production Suite that will enable its autonomous systems to be deployed onto new drone hardware at production scale. The software takes factory-fresh hardware through installation, configuration, automated acceptance testing and final sign-off, allowing production teams to deploy the autonomy platform without relying on engineering support for every unit.
You will work across software deployment, edge devices, test automation and Linux-based tooling, building reliable workflows that connect hardware, software and production operations. The role is highly practical and hands-on, with responsibility spanning device flashing and configuration through to automated testing, deployment and operator-facing workflows.
As one of the early engineers in the team, you will help shape both the product and the engineering approach. You will work closely with Operations, Test Automation, Hardware Enablement and autonomy engineers to make the entire production process reliable, repeatable and scalable to thousands of units.
Ideal candidates will have knowledge of:
• Several years of software engineering experience, ideally within robotics, hardware, consumer electronics, networking or industrial products
• Strong Linux command-line experience
• Python or another scripting/programming language used for tooling and automation
• Software deployment to physical devices, edge hardware or embedded platforms
• Docker, Kubernetes and modern CI/CD tooling
• SSH, remote execution, APIs and structured data formats such as JSON/YAML
• Test automation, acceptance testing and automated production workflows
• Device provisioning, flashing, configuration or lifecycle management
• Building tools that automate manual production or engineering processes
• Troubleshooting across hardware/software boundaries
• Operator-facing workflow or GUI tools
• Ability to own problems end-to-end and work across engineering and operations teams
• Experience in manufacturing, production tooling, robotics, autonomous systems or regulated environments is advantageous
