Position Summary
We are seeking a Workshop Technician (Toolstore) to join our team on a 3-month contract. The successful candidate will provide operational support to the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) function by managing tooling, equipment and consumables across the Toolstores.
This role will be responsible for ensuring effective inventory management, supplier coordination, calibration activities, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of Toolstore operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with applicable quality standards and aviation regulatory requirements relating to warehouse storage and Toolstore operations, and support internal, quality and financial audits as required.
- Identify, evaluate and recommend suitable calibration service providers capable of meeting required technical standards and providing the necessary certifications to satisfy regulatory requirements.
- Source and recommend suitable suppliers for Toolstore consumables, ensuring competitive pricing, quality and availability.
- Manage Toolstore inventory, including consumables, tools and equipment, with responsibility for stock planning and replenishment across both Toolstores.
- Plan and coordinate calibration activities for site tools and equipment across both Toolstores.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert and escalation point for tooling matters within JSIN.
- Provide tooling-related support and guidance to JET sister sites as required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within Toolstore operations to enhance service quality, operational efficiency and team performance.
- Monitor and report operational issues, key activities and progress to Management on a regular basis.
- Act as the SAP S/4HANA Key User for Toolstores, supporting effective system usage and related processes.
- Manage Dassault, GAC, PWC and FDS consignment tooling inventory located at JSIN, including inventory reporting and stock counts as requested by the respective OEMs.
- Support additional tasks, projects and operational initiatives as assigned by Management from time to time.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline is preferred.
- Relevant vocational training, technical apprenticeship or equivalent practical work experience.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP, Baan or similar.
- Previous experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably within the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Solid understanding of purchasing processes and procedures.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal customers, suppliers and vendors.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
