Job Title – Kitchen Supervisor

Reporting to – General Manager

Main Responsibility

As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will ensure the kitchen operates safely,
efficiently, and in line with the company's targets, plans, and
objectives. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of
food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, stock control, and customer service
while leading and supporting the kitchen team.

As part of this role, you will also be trained as a Key Holder and will
be expected to take responsibility for the overall operation of the site
when required by the business. This includes opening and closing the
site, managing daily operations, leading the team during your shift, and
ensuring the business operates safely and effectively in the absence of
senior management.

You will ensure that all health and safety requirements are monitored,
maintained, and reported in accordance with current legislation and
company procedures, while promoting a positive working environment and
delivering an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate and support the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of
performance and customer service.

Oversee all food preparation, cooking, food quality, stock ordering,
and stock control within the kitchen.

Ensure food hygiene, allergen controls, HACCP procedures, and food
safety standards are maintained at all times.

Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness throughout the café,
kitchen and mezzanine areas, ensuring cleaning schedules are completed
and recorded.

Recruit, train and develop kitchen team members.

Be the first point of contact for kitchen-related customer complaints,
resolving issues where possible and escalating to management when
required.

Complete weekly food and drink orders, stock counts, wastage records,
and update stock systems as required.

Ensure all Jolt checklists, temperature records, cleaning schedules and
daily paperwork are completed accurately.

Assist with annual Food Safety Audits and implement any required
actions.

Promote and maintain a positive, motivated team culture.

Report any maintenance, safeguarding, food safety or health and safety
concerns to management.

Carry out till operation and cash handling duties in accordance with
company procedures.

Follow and promote all company policies and procedures.

Act with integrity, professionalism and respect towards customers and
colleagues.

Key Holder Responsibilities

As a trained Key Holder, you will also be expected to:

Open and close the site in accordance with company procedures.

Take responsibility for the overall operation of the business during
your shift.

Lead the wider team, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and
delivers excellent customer service.

Manage staffing levels, breaks and operational priorities throughout
the day.

Ensure all opening, closing and cash handling procedures are completed
accurately.

Respond appropriately to operational issues, customer complaints and
emergency situations.

Make operational decisions in the absence of senior management and
escalate issues where appropriate.

Ensure all departments comply with company standards, health and safety
requirements and operational procedures.

Undertake Key Holder responsibilities whenever required to meet the
operational needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, school
holidays and periods when senior management are not on site.

Performance reviews will be held regularly to assess performance across
both the Kitchen Supervisor and Key Holder aspects of the role, ensuring
company standards and expectations are consistently achieved

Qualifications/Skills

●A good level of spoken English

●Basic IT skills

●3-day first-aid certificate desirable

●Level Food Hygiene Level 2/3 Desirable

Working Conditions

●You will need to be available for weekends and School holidays, your
hours may also take place midweek during the day/evenings.
