Java Backend Developer
Location: Burgess Hill, UK – Hybrid
Experience: 7+ Years
We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer with strong hands-on experience in Java, Microservices, REST APIs and Kafka. The role focuses on developing scalable backend services using standard engineering practices and working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
Mandatory Skills:
- Java – strong hands-on experience
- Microservices architecture
- REST APIs
- Apache Kafka
- Standard backend engineering practices
- SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Unit, integration and automated testing
- CI/CD and Git
- Agile development
Database: Candidates with SQL or NoSQL experience are acceptable. Ideally, profiles should demonstrate exposure to both SQL and NoSQL databases.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable Java microservices.
- Design and implement REST APIs.
- Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka.
- Work with SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Write automated unit and integration tests.
- Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting and performance improvements.
- Follow CI/CD and standard backend engineering practices
