The Forward Deployed Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Madrid, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role involves working directly with customers to understand their technical and business requirements, designing and implementing software solutions that integrate Orbio AI’s platform into their workflows. Day-to-day tasks include developing and maintaining back-end services, writing robust and scalable code, debugging and resolving production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product, data science, and customer success. The engineer will participate in solution architecture discussions, build prototypes, support deployments, and ensure that implemented systems meet performance, reliability, and security standards. The role requires high ownership, clear communication with stakeholders, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including algorithms, data structures, and systems design.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and database integration.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and related design patterns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or similar) and cloud platforms.
- Ability to work closely with customers, gather requirements, and deliver solutions in real-world environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
- Comfort with a hybrid work model in Madrid and willingness to engage with customers on-site when needed.
- Experience with AI, machine learning, or data-intensive systems is a plus.
