AI / Data Scientist Consultant – Financial Service Industry / Contractual role (6 months initially)
Location: 2-3 days on site greater Zurich area, 1-2 days remote Swiss based work, 80% plus
Your new role
We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Specialist / Data Scientist to support data-driven initiatives across fiduciary grade AI environment.
This is a hands-on technical role combining data analysis, machine learning, coding and stakeholder engagement. You will develop and evolve robust machine learning and LLM-based solutions, work extensively with data, and collaborate with cross-functional and executive teams to ensure technical solutions are aligned with business objectives.
Embedded with a MasonBreese B2B information, software and technology client, you will work in an English-speaking environment and contribute across the AI/ML lifecycle – from data exploration and analysis through model development, implementation, optimisation and monitoring.
You will also be expected to communicate complex technical findings clearly, translating data and analytical insights into actionable recommendations for senior and executive stakeholders.
This job is for you if you
- Have strong experience developing, evolving and managing machine learning solutions end-to-end, from exploratory data analysis and data preparation through development, deployment, optimisation and monitoring.
- Bring strong hands-on coding experience, particularly with Python, PySpark and SQL, as well as modern machine learning and LLM frameworks.
- Are comfortable working directly with complex datasets, identifying patterns and insights, and translating them into robust ML/AI solutions.
- Can translate complex analytical and technical topics into clear, business-relevant recommendations, including for senior and executive stakeholders.
- Are comfortable collaborating across technical, business and executive teams in an English-speaking environment.
- Can adapt quickly to new tools, technologies and domains and thrive in an independent, contractor-style working environment.
- Are fluent in English; German is an advantage.
- Are resident in Switzerland and hold a valid permit to work in Switzerland.
