GIGA Labs is part of Innovation & Technology Labs, based out in Bangalore. We are part of Global Labs in Schneider network with various accreditations like NABL, UL, DEKRA, ASTA …. We have more than 70+ Engineers working on various technologies in Electrical , Mechanical, Electronics , Digital, Prototyping , Environmental, Microgrids on multiple product categories.
We are looking for an Engineering expert engineer with expertise in Circuit breaker , Switchboard , busways , & distribution box . This person would work with cross functional teams , global labs and marketing on upcoming technologies and new innovations in Schneider Electric . This position gives exposure to experiments & explore , develop new ideas both in electrical and data science field .
As an Subject matter expert , you would be responsible for the Verification and validation of project . You would be planning , monitoring, estimating , and control of activities in lab & external labs . At the outset of the project, you in collaboration with the other stakeholders, devise the test objectives, organizational test policies, test strategies and test plans. You would also be working with other labs across globe on various strategies. You would have the opportunity to work on Data Science, Agile , ISO17025, six sigma .You would directly report to lab Manager and would be based out in Bangalore.
Responsibilities
- Lead Key project in Busways and Panels
- Project Management: Ability to Plan for running projects of Busways and Panels.
- Guide and Train Test Engineers: Offer technical expertise and training to test engineers. Help them conduct functional and performance tests to verify proper operation of products and compliance with industry standards.
- Analyse Test Results and Provide Reports: Analyse the results of tests conducted and prepare detailed reports on findings. This helps in identifying any issues or areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot and Diagnose Failures: During testing, troubleshoot and diagnose failures that may occur with the products. This is important for identifying and resolving any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with Design and Engineering Teams: Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure the development of efficient and reliable products. This collaboration helps in aligning testing requirements with product development.
- Stay Up to Date with Industry Trends: Keep yourself updated with industry trends, advancements, and standards related to circuit breaker and switchboard testing. This knowledge is crucial for maintaining a high level of expertise in your field.
- Adherence to Safety Protocols: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations during testing activities. Safety is of utmost importance in a lab environment.
- Maintain Technical Competency and Quality Standards: Maintain the technical competency of the test laboratory by following National and international accreditation Quality Management System procedures (such as NABL 17025). This ensures high-quality testing and compliance with standards.
- Build Network with Labs: Establish a strong network and collaborate with other labs such as UL, CPRI, and ERDA. This helps in sharing knowledge, best practices, and staying updated with industry developments.
- Track Standards Development and Gap Analysis: Keep track of developments in standards and analyse any gaps in competency and infrastructure. This helps in identifying areas for improvement and staying ahead in the industry.
- Support Lab Automation Projects: Support the team in implementing lab automation projects. Automation can improve efficiency and accuracy in testing processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Have rich experience in testing and inspection of Busways and Panels
- Thorough Understanding of IEC61439 -1, IEC 61439-2, IEC 61439-3, IEC 61439-6, IEC60947-1, IEC60947-2
- Thorough with National Electrical code, earthing systems, and wiring rules.
- Proven experience in Busway and Panel testing, preferably in a manufacturing and testing environment.
- Strong project management skills
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC, ANSI, and UL.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in using testing equipment and tools.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and think out of the box.
- High-level technical writing skills.
