Position Purpose

The Manager/Senior Manager, Finance is a strategic finance leader responsible for providing financial leadership, insight, and decision support to the Contractor Services and Pro businesses. This role partners closely with the business leadership team and the Director of Finance to drive profitable growth, optimize investments, and deliver financial results aligned with enterprise objectives.

The successful candidate will lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management processes while providing actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. This role is accountable for strengthening financial controls, managing profit and loss performance, overseeing capital and cash management activities, and developing a high-performing team of finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

Serve as a trusted advisor to Contractor Services and Pro leadership, providing strategic financial guidance and insights to support business planning and decision-making.

Develop a deep understanding of business operations, key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.

Influence business strategies by identifying trends, evaluating investments, and recommending actions to improve financial and operational performance.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness, streamline processes, and create shareholder value.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long-range planning processes.

Deliver accurate financial projections and provide meaningful analysis of financial results, trends, risks, and opportunities.

Monitor business performance against financial commitments and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Develop and maintain executive-level reporting and dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making.

Performance Management & Financial Leadership

Own monthly and quarterly financial review processes, including variance analysis and performance reporting.

Drive key financial and operational metrics to achieve revenue, profitability, productivity, and return-on-investment targets.

Provide thought leadership on financial implications of strategic initiatives, business cases, and capital investment opportunities.

Ensure financial objectives are integrated into operational decision-making and planning activities.

Financial Controls & Governance

Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities in partnership with Accounting and Shared Services teams.

Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment in compliance with accounting policies and corporate governance requirements.

Ensure financial reporting accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all areas of responsibility.

Identify and mitigate financial risks while supporting sound business decision-making.

Capital, Cash & Balance Sheet Management

Oversee capital planning, capital deployment, and investment tracking processes.

Lead cash flow forecasting and working capital management activities.

Monitor balance sheet performance and identify opportunities to improve asset utilization and financial returns.

Support inventory, capital expenditure, and cash management strategies that maximize financial performance.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Build strong partnerships across Finance, Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Technology, and other cross-functional teams.

Lead and contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives and projects that support business transformation and growth.

Facilitate effective communication and alignment among stakeholders to drive successful execution of strategic priorities.

People Leadership

Lead, develop, and coach a team of finance professionals, fostering a high-performance and growth-oriented culture.

Establish clear objectives, provide ongoing performance feedback, and support career development planning.

Drive team engagement, capability building, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.

Ensure efficient allocation of resources, workload management, and achievement of department objectives.

Nature and Scope

Reports directly to the Director, Finance.

Responsible for the leadership and development of direct and indirect reports.

Accountable for financial planning, reporting, analysis, and business performance management for Contractor Services and Pro.

Exercises significant independent judgment in evaluating business opportunities, managing risks, and recommending strategic actions.

Influences senior business leaders and cross-functional partners through financial expertise and business acumen.

Qualifications

Education & Professional Designation

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.

CPA designation (or equivalent professional accounting designation) strongly preferred.

MBA or advanced business degree considered an asset.

Experience

Progressive leadership experience in Finance, FP&A, Controllership, or business-facing finance roles.

Experience supporting operational, retail, supply chain, distribution, or commercial business functions preferred.

Demonstrated success leading financial planning, forecasting, business analysis, and performance management processes.

Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

Business & Financial Acumen

Strong knowledge of financial planning, accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls, and performance management.

Proven ability to interpret complex financial information and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.

Experience managing P&L performance, capital investments, cash flow, and balance sheet initiatives.

Strong analytical and critical-thinking capabilities with the ability to evaluate alternatives and make sound business recommendations.

Ability to navigate ambiguity, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions to complex business challenges.

The pay range for this position is between $88,700.00 - $107,300.00
