Core Competencies & Domain Knowledge
• Payment Order Management Expertise (Must-have):
o Deep functional understanding of the payment order lifecycle (initiation,
validation, enrichment, routing, execution, and status management).
o Strong expertise in messaging standards, specifically ISO 20022 (MX
formats) and legacy formats (MT).
o Hands-on experience with Core APIs (REST/Events) powering payment
flows.
• Payment Infrastructure & Domestic/Global Clearing (Nice-to-have):
o Familiarity with Swedish domestic clearing (Bankgirot/BGC, RIX-RTGS,
RIX-INST).
o Knowledge of cross-border execution (SWIFT) and European clearing
mechanisms (SEPA, TARGET2, EBA EURO1).
Technical & Architectural Understanding
• Experience working as a PO/APO in complex, event-driven microservice
architectures (handling high throughput and strict availability requirements).
• Strong ability to collaborate closely with architects, developers, and testers to
translate business requirements into clear API specifications and backlog items.
• Understanding of reconciliation, FX handling, and exception/error management
in payment engines.
Agile Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Proven track record as an Agile Product Owner (Scrum/SAFe) – driving
refinement, sprint planning, prioritization, and product increments based on
business value.
• Excellent dependency management skills – ability to align requirements with
upstream channels, downstream ledgers, AML/Sanctions screening, and
compliance teams.
• Strong communication skills to act as the primary interface between business
stakeholders and technical execution teams.
