Location: Hybrid / Flexible. This role offers flexible, hybrid working around our talent hubs. We have key talent hubs in Paris, Geneva or Lyon.

Language: Fluent English required; French is a strong plus.

About us

Recupere Metals has developed a new wire-forming technology that produces high-conductivity copper wire without the need for 99.95% pure copper raw materials. No smelting. No refining. Just a smarter process using only scrap copper.

By eliminating these costly and highly polluting steps, we are considerably reducing the overall cost of copper-wire production while putting to use millions of tonnes of copper scrap currently unsuitable for electrical use. Our technology paves the way for fully circular and cost-effective copper-wire production, an essential piece of the global energy transition.

We have raised over EUR5m in our first round of funding from leading investors, secured strong interest from large commercial offtakers, and demonstrated that we have a way of boosting the world's production of recycled copper.

We're now building our core team, and it's the perfect time to jump on board.

About the role

We're looking for a Founders Associate to act as right hand to our CEO, Katie - an awesome individual who can move across commercial strategy, financing and operations, wherever the business needs the most leverage at a given time. This isn't a fixed-function role: it's built around what Recupere needs most, and it will evolve as the company grows.

You'll work directly on the company's most important problems: from structuring commercial deals and pricing, to securing grant funding, planning the budget, and managing cashflow, giving the CEO a partner who can think, analyse and execute across the full breadth of the business.

Your responsibilities

Commercial & Strategic Support

- Support commercial strategy across sourcing, market development and pricing — from supplier and customer research to deal analysis and negotiation prep.

- Contribute financial and commercial analysis to major deals, partnerships and strategic decisions.

- Help translate market and customer insight into clear recommendations for the CEO and leadership.

Company Financing & Planning

- Support the CEO on company financing needs, including researching and preparing grant applications and managing relationships with grant bodies.

- Own or support budget planning: building and maintaining the company budget, and tracking actuals against plan.

- Support cashflow management and forecasting, helping ensure the company has clear visibility on runway and funding needs.

- Contribute to investor materials and fundraising support as needed, including data-room preparation and financial analysis.

Operations & Special Projects

- Take ownership of cross-functional projects, from defining the problem to implementing a solution.

- Build practical tools and processes that improve how the company tracks information, decisions and progress.

- Support coordination across commercial, technical and production teams as needed.

- Prepare materials, analysis and follow-ups for key meetings, including board and investor updates.

Right Hand to the CEO

- Act as a trusted sounding board and thought partner across commercial, strategic and financing topics.

- Help prioritise the CEO's time and follow through on key decisions and action items.

- Step into whatever the business needs most at a given time this role is defined by impact, not a fixed job description.

Ideal background

- 3+ years experience in strategy consulting, banking, commercial strategy, corporate finance, or a generalist/chief-of-staff-style role in a startup or fast-growing business.

- Comfortable moving between relationship-facing work (commercial, partnerships) and analytical work (financial modelling, budgeting, grant applications).

- Strong quantitative skills and advanced spreadsheet proficiency, with the ability to turn complex analysis into practical decisions.

- Some exposure to company financing: budgeting, cashflow, grants or fundraising is valuable; deep expertise is not required, but genuine interest and aptitude are.

- Confidence working with incomplete data, making explicit assumptions and testing how sensitive conclusions are to change.

- Evidence of taking ownership and delivering projects with limited supervision.

- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the judgement and discretion to work closely with a CEO on sensitive topics.

- A practical approach to digital tools, automation and process improvement.

- Interest in industrial technology, electrification and the circular economy.

- Fluent English; French is a strong plus.

What we offer

We're building an industrial deep-tech company from the ground up. You will work directly with the CEO and help shape the commercial, financial and operational foundations that support our growth.

- CDI contract.

- Competitive compensation and BSPCE employee stock-option package.

- 50% health-insurance coverage.

- Hybrid work model, with an office in Nanterre, and occasional travel to our hubs in Paris, Lyon or Geneva for team and client meetings.

- Direct exposure to, and ownership of, the full breadth of decisions that shape an early-stage company.

- Scope to develop towards commercial strategy, finance, operations or a broader leadership role as the business grows.

We believe deep tech needs deep diversity. If you're excited by our mission but don't tick every single box, we still want to hear from you. Versatility, initiative and a hunger to learn are essential at this stage of our journey.

Join us to re-wire the copper industry.
