The role
Applications are sought for the position of Purchasing Officer for a six month fixed term contract.
The responsibilities of this role will be:
- Process and manage Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain order confirmations, monitor lead times and ensure delivery commitments are met.
- Proactively expedite outstanding and overdue orders, escalating potential operational impacts where required.
- Investigate and resolve Accounts Payable queries, invoice discrepancies and pricing/cost variances.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Provide procurement support and guidance to end users, including training on purchasing processes and ERP systems.
- Liaise with operational teams, Warehouse, Accounts Payable and suppliers to resolve purchasing and supply issues.
- Assist with sourcing, obtaining competitive pricing and identifying cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities.
About you
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or a similar commercial role.
- Experience working within a mining, resources, construction, industrial or other operational environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, operational personnel and internal stakeholders.
- Experience in Pronto essential.
