This is a broad country-level finance position combining accounting, controlling, reporting, business partnering and financial planning. You will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function in the Netherlands while working closely with the local Managing Director and the finance organisation at the company’s European headquarters.

The role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the financial management and oversight of the Dutch business. You will ensure accurate reporting and compliance while providing the analysis, insight and commercial support needed to guide operational and strategic decisions.

You will operate with a high degree of independence, while remaining closely connected to international finance colleagues and other functions across the business.

Your main responsibilities

- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations of the Dutch entity

- Manage month-end and year-end closing activities

- Deliver accurate and timely statutory and management reporting

- Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial plans

- Analyse revenue, costs, margins and overall business performance

- Provide financial insight and advice to local management

- Support commercial tenders, project calculations and pricing decisions

- Lead investment appraisal and business-case evaluations

- Manage general accounting in accordance with Dutch accounting requirements

- Prepare annual financial statements under Dutch GAAP and IFRS

- Manage cash flow, banking activities and payment approvals

- Coordinate VAT, corporate tax and other relevant declarations together with external advisers

- Act as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors

- Manage relationships with external finance partners and service providers

- Ensure compliance with local regulations, accounting standards and internal policies

- Partner with Operations, Project Management, HR, Payroll, IT and other functions

- Coordinate closely with the international finance team at the European headquarters

What we are looking for

- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or a related discipline

- At least five years of experience in a comparable finance position within an international organisation

- Strong accounting knowledge, including IFRS and local GAAP

- Solid controlling experience, particularly in management reporting and cost analysis

- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting and financial closing processes

- Good working knowledge of SAP FI/CO

- Advanced Excel skills

- Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken

- The ability to work independently and take full ownership of the local finance function

- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills

- A practical, analytical and business-oriented approach

Experience within manufacturing, engineering, project-based services, defence or security would be an advantage. A master’s degree or recognised accountancy qualification is also considered beneficial.

What makes this opportunity interesting?

This is an opportunity to join an international organisation during an important stage of expansion in the Netherlands. The position offers significant visibility within the business and the chance to shape and strengthen the local finance operation.

You will have a broad remit, direct exposure to senior management and the opportunity to influence both operational performance and longer-term business development.

Practical details

- Permanent, full-time position

- Salary indication: €6,250–€7,300 gross per month, depending on experience

- International reporting line

- Occasional travel within Europe
