Job Description:

At Regions, the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for the hands-on management of the Business Resiliency program. This position requires a proven subject matter expert with demonstrated competency in the planning, development, program execution, maintenance and testing of Enterprise Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis/Incident Management programs. This position requires communication and coordination across the organization and must demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Primary Responsibilities

Ensures that plans are properly rated for all business process areas, contains all required sections, and reflects current conditions

Develops plans and strategies that are appropriate, cohesive, and viable, while recovering key functions within required time frames

Provides training on the correct implementation of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC & DR) processes, standards and impart training to ensure recoverability of business processes and supporting services across organizations

Supports review and maintenance of business continuity policy, standards, and processes

Coordinates internal reporting and tracking of business continuity related issues and remediation activities

Supports assigned oversight areas with the creation, maintenance and testing of their various business continuity plans

Identifies Business Continuity related risks (internal / external), the assessment of their likelihood, as well as potential impacts and risk mitigation plans

Proactively identifies and implements BC & DR program and process improvements

Provides ongoing subject matter expert (SME) guidance and assistance on business continuity matters

Ensures that Technology Disaster Recovery applications have fully documented, tested, executable plans

Designs, coordinates, and executes BC & DR annual test exercises for critical business processes and produce test reports including lessons learned

Partners with infrastructure and application areas to develop and maintain recovery procedures for Tier 1 business applications

Develops recovery priorities, timelines, and strategy for proper sequence of recovery components

Educates technology partners in practices of technology risk disaster recovery planning

Reviews existing and proposed plans for recoverability effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement

Provides guidance to management in self-assessing their control environment

Develops and reviews third party contracts for hardware and telecom services for Disaster Recovery hardware equipment and location resources

Partners across Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data (TODD) to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and monitored to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cyber security, effectively mitigating risk to levels within the company’s risk appetite

Ensures disciplined change management by evaluating risk and control impacts when designing or implementing changes to processes, systems, products, and/or services

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

This is a single incumbent position.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field and ten (10) years of hands-on Business Continuity and/or Information Technology Disaster Recovery experience of which three (3) years are leadership, supervisory or management experience

Or High School Diploma or GED and fourteen (14) years of hands-on Business Continuity and/or Information Technology Disaster Recovery experience of which three (3) years are leadership, supervisory or management experience

Familiarity with Governance, Risk and Compliance as it applies to BCDR planning

Financial Services/Banking industry experience

Preferences

Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Risk and Audit certifications preferred (e.g. Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), etc.)

Experience with Business Continuity Planning (BCP) framework components including Business Resumption Planning, Crisis Management Planning, Incident Response Planning, Disaster Recovery Planning, Plan Exercising/Testing, and Conducting BIAs

Experience in performing BC Audits

Experience in managing and coordinating the response to a major, unplanned disruptive event that required activation of the BC/DR/Incident or Crisis Management Plans

Skills and Competencies

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with employees of all levels

Ability to understand and apply DR concepts to both mainframe and distributed environments

Ability to work effectively as a member of a cross-functional team

Advanced influencing skills and ability to drive the BC & DR agenda

Knowledge and experience in performing assessments aligned with the best practices

Knowledge of the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII)/Business Continuity Institute (BCI)/BCDR frameworks

Proven leadership skills and a track record of team building

Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem resolution, and decision-making skills

Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create detailed and well-organized summaries of risk assessment findings that can be easily understood by stakeholders

Strong presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Understanding of and ability to interpret applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance

Additional Responsibilities and Preferred Qualifications Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the enterprise resiliency strategy aligned to business objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite.

Provide leadership and oversight to managers responsible for Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, and Vendor Resilience programs.

Establish governance, policies, standards, and testing frameworks to ensure organizational readiness and recovery capabilities.

Partner with senior business, technology, security, risk, and vendor management leaders to identify critical services, mitigate resilience risks, and strengthen operational stability.

Lead resilience assessments, exercises, and crisis preparedness activities to validate recovery and continuity capabilities.

Drive continuous improvement through metrics, reporting, and lessons learned from incidents, tests, and industry events.

Communicate resiliency posture, risks, and program maturity to executive leadership and key stakeholders. Qualifications

10+ years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Operational Resilience, Risk Management, or related disciplines, including leadership of large-scale enterprise programs.

Proven experience leading leaders and managing multiple resiliency functions in a complex enterprise environment.

Strong executive communication, strategic planning, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Deep understanding of resilience frameworks, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. The locations available for this role are Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, or Charlotte, NC.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Job Range Target:

Minimum: $153,115.60 USD

Median: $203,690.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans: This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
