Role

Whatnot's legal team supports every part of a hypergrowth marketplace, moving fast without a playbook to copy. We're hiring a Contracts Manager to own our contract process end-to-end across all types of commercial agreements. You'll bring structure and speed to how Whatnot contracts, working closely with the teams whose deals you're supporting.

-

Own the contract lifecycle, from drafting through execution and archive

-

Negotiate standard and non-standard terms directly

-

Own commercial contract amendments

-

Build and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and Ironclad workflows

-

Partner with relevant cross-functional teams on terms and process

-

Own the contract repository and reporting.

We offer flexibility to work from home or from one of our global office hubs, and we value in-person time for planning, problem-solving, and connection. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our San Francisco, New York, or Los Angeles hubs.

You

People who do well at Whatnot tend to be comfortable figuring things out as they go, biased toward action, and genuinely curious about what they're building. They care more about outcomes than credit and stay close to the product and the people using it.

As our next Contracts Manager, you should have 5+ years of contract management, procurement, or commercial legal experience, ideally at a fast-paced tech or marketplace company, plus:

-

Hands-on experience with vendor, procurement, and commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, DPAs, and order forms

-

Comfortable negotiating with real latitude. You know the difference between a routine deviation and one that needs counsel, and you don't wait to be told which is which

-

Proficient with Ironclad (or equivalent CLM), including setting up and managing templates and workflows

-

Strong organizational skills, especially at high contract volume. You keep a clean repository and catch renewals and expirations before anyone has to ask

-

Clear communicator across legal and non-legal audiences. You can explain contract status to someone who isn't a lawyer without losing anyone

-

Demonstrated AI tool fluency. You've used AI to build a real workflow, not just to draft or summarize occasionally

-

Comfortable owning ambiguity. You build process where it's missing instead of waiting for one to exist

Benefits
