We’re hiring a Python Backend Developer to join a small, high-performing engineering team building the systems that turn live market data, quantitative models and trader decisions into real-time action.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years’ software engineering experience
- Strong Python skills
- Experience with web scraping / reverse engineering, including working around bot-protection tooling
- Strong technical judgement — knowing when to optimise and when to ship
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer Science or numerical degree from a top university
- Comfortable taking ownership from design → production → support
You’ll be working on:
⚡ Event-driven Python & asyncio systems handling fast-moving market data
📡 Kafka & RabbitMQ messaging at scale
🎯 Real-time execution systems where latency, correctness and resilience matter
🖥️ High-density trading UIs powered by WebSockets
🔍 Observability across critical paths with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus & Grafana
☁️ Infrastructure and cloud initiatives, including AWS
🤝 Close collaboration with traders, quants and other engineers
Experience with event-driven systems, Linux/Unix, AWS, Go, TypeScript, PostgreSQL or Redis is a bonus.
