Role Description In this part-time, on-site role based in Børkop, the Special Educator with autism experience supports STU participants in daily radio and media activities. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating structured, autism-friendly learning sessions, guiding participants through tasks such as program preparation, recording, and simple production work, and adapting activities to individual needs and strengths. The educator will collaborate with colleagues to create clear routines, visual supports, and social stories, as well as provide gentle coaching in communication, social interaction, and self-regulation. The role also involves documenting progress, participating in team meetings, and communicating with guardians and relevant professionals to ensure holistic support for each participant.
Qualifications
- Professional background in special education, pedagogy, social work, or a related field, with practical experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum.
- Skills in structuring learning environments, using visual supports, and adapting activities to different cognitive and sensory needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, including clear, respectful interaction with participants, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Interest or experience in creative media (e.g., radio, audio, or simple digital production) and the ability to integrate these into educational activities.
- Capacity to maintain calm in challenging situations, support emotional regulation, and apply de-escalation and positive behavior support techniques.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly, while contributing actively to a supportive, team-oriented work culture.
- Basic IT skills and comfort using digital tools relevant to planning, documentation, and media-related tasks.
- Fluency in Danish and good written communication skills; additional languages are an asset.
