About the Opportunity
The organization is seeking a Logistics Manager to join its Supply Chain team. The function is responsible for the end-to-end fulfillment network, spanning co-manufacturer production through third-party logistics (3PL) warehousing to final delivery. As dedicated logistics functions are established, this individual will own freight operations, fulfillment execution, and carrier performance, including freight budget accountability.
The Logistics Manager will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager. The role currently has no direct reports, though team structure may evolve over time. This position collaborates regularly with Customer Care, Food Safety & Quality, and Finance teams.

Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day 3PL fulfillment performance, ensuring shipments consistently achieve on-time in-full (OTIF) and service level agreement (SLA) targets.
Manage domestic freight operations and carrier relationships, including rate negotiations to control expenses and maintain service quality.
Audit freight billing and resolve claims to recover costs resulting from carrier overcharges or service disruptions.
Own the freight and logistics budget, tracking expenditures and reporting monthly variance to leadership.
Build and maintain real-time logistics and carrier performance reporting to serve as an operational source of truth.
Maintain comprehensive product traceability from co-manufacturer production through final delivery, partnering with Food Safety & Quality on investigations.
Serve as the primary operational liaison between Customer Care and the 3PL network to resolve fulfillment and delivery issues.
Success Metrics
First 30 Days: Complete onboarding across freight and 3PL systems, map the carrier and 3PL network, and independently audit a sample of freight bills.
First 3 Months: Fully oversee freight auditing, claims resolution, and budget tracking; launch a live logistics performance dashboard; and document core standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ongoing: Maintain OTIF and SLA performance at or above target, manage freight spend within budget with proactive variance reporting, and resolve freight claims on a predictable timeline.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in logistics or transportation.
Proven experience auditing freight invoices and recovering costs associated with carrier errors.
Direct experience negotiating rates or contract terms with freight carriers.
Ability to build and maintain operational performance reporting utilizing tools such as Google Sheets, Looker, or comparable platforms.
Demonstrated background in independently establishing processes and workflows.
Strong interpersonal communication skills with comfort holding external vendors accountable to performance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
Experience with cross-border over-the-road (OTR) freight.
