Role Description The Owner role at Jiva in Tegal is a full-time, on-site position responsible for overseeing overall operations, business performance, and strategic execution at the local level. The individual in this role will manage daily business activities, set and track financial and operational targets, and ensure that services such as micro-financing, agri-ecommerce, harvest purchasing, and agronomy advisory are delivered efficiently and ethically. This role includes leading and mentoring a cross-functional team, coordinating with partners and stakeholders, and maintaining strong relationships with local farmer communities. The Owner will monitor market trends, assess risks and opportunities, and align local initiatives with Jiva’s broader mission and growth strategy. The position also involves ensuring compliance with local regulations, promoting a safe and inclusive workplace, and representing Jiva’s values in all business dealings.

- Strong leadership, people management, and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Business management and strategic planning capabilities, including experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and performance tracking.
- Stakeholder and partner management skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with farmers, local communities, suppliers, and institutional partners.
- Operational and project management skills, including experience in process optimization, problem-solving, and implementing scalable systems.
- Relevant experience in agriculture, agritech, rural development, or related sectors, ideally with exposure to smallholder farming communities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in articulating complex concepts clearly and fostering collaborative decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Agriculture, Economics, Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working on-site in Tegal, with a hands-on approach and willingness to spend time in the field and with farmer networks.
