Position Description
CGI is seeking a Senior GenAI & Data Engineer to develop and integrate AI enabled solutions within a large scale financial services environment. This role combines hands on Generative AI and LLM development with strong data engineering, Python, and AWS cloud expertise.
This position has an onsite expectation of 3–5 days per week in Reston, VA with local candidates preferred.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will build AI agents and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, develop scalable data pipelines and processing workflows, and integrate AI capabilities with enterprise applications and data platforms. The position requires the ability to translate business and product requirements into practical technical solutions while remaining hands on throughout implementation.
The environment is heavily AWS focused, leveraging services such as Amazon Bedrock, AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and AWS Step Functions along with containerized and event driven workloads. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders are important.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 5+ years of hands on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), including AI agents and enterprise AI applications.
- Experience implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and working with Amazon Bedrock.
- Advanced Python and PySpark development skills for data processing, analytics, automation, and AI enabled applications.
- Strong data engineering experience, including data pipelines, data models, integrations, and large scale data processing.
- Hands on experience with AWS cloud services, particularly AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and AWS Step Functions.
- Experience developing cloud native solutions using serverless, containerized, and event driven approaches.
- Strong REST API and systems integration experience connecting applications, data platforms, AI services, and enterprise systems.
- Experience translating business and product requirements into practical technical implementation approaches for AI enabled products.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and drive implementation through completion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
- Financial services or other highly regulated enterprise experience is beneficial.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,100.00 $110,100.00.
