Role Description The Character Performer role is an on-site position based in Maitland, FL. In this role, the performer brings scripted and themed characters to life for corporate events, shows, and destination experiences, engaging audiences through movement, improvisation, and interactive performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include attending rehearsals, learning choreography and blocking, maintaining character integrity throughout events, and collaborating with directors, choreographers, and fellow performers. The performer will participate in costume fittings and make‑up sessions, follow safety and backstage protocols, and adapt to varying event themes and locations. This role also involves supporting smooth event execution by arriving prepared, following production schedules, and providing a professional, guest-focused presence before, during, and after performances.

Qualifications

- Strong performance skills, including character acting, improvisation, and stage presence.

- Experience with basic dance, movement, or physical theatre suitable for live entertainment.

- Ability to work comfortably in costumes, masks, and special FX make‑up for extended periods.

- Professionalism in interacting with guests, clients, and production teams in high-profile event settings.

- Reliability in following rehearsal schedules, call times, and direction from choreographers and show directors.

- Comfort working in fast-paced, live-event environments, including backstage and onstage performance conditions.

- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with other performers and crew.

- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.

- Previous experience in live entertainment, theme parks, theatre, or corporate events is preferred.

- Ability to stand, move, and perform physical tasks as required by character roles; accommodations available as needed.
