About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer specialized in M365 and Azure to join our Global IT Infrastructure & Services team at our Dortmund location. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure to support our global operations. You will play a critical part in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our cloud platforms, primarily focusing on Microsoft Azure. Your expertise will help shape our cloud strategy, optimize existing architectures, and implement best practices to meet business needs. Qualifications
- A successfully completed university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable IT qualification.
- Several years of practical experience in building and managing cloud environments with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of cloud architectures, governance frameworks, and platform operation best practices.
- Experience in automating IT infrastructure and standardizing processes to improve efficiency.
- Proficiency in network and security concepts within cloud environments, ensuring compliance and safety.
- Understanding of hybrid IT landscapes, integrating on-premises and cloud solutions effectively.
- Structured, independent working style with a high quality standard and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English, written and spoken.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate the Microsoft Azure cloud platform within a global environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Conceive and implement platform governance structures, policies, and security standards to maintain compliance and operational integrity.
- Advance modern cloud architectures with a focus on scalability, security, and standardization to support business growth.
- Design and optimize network and infrastructure concepts for hybrid cloud environments, balancing on-premises and cloud resources.
- Automate deployment processes and standardize cloud resource provisioning to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
- Participate in the integration of applications and services with the cloud platform, ensuring seamless connectivity and functionality.
- Ensure adherence to cloud security policies and compliance requirements, continuously developing security concepts to mitigate risks.
- Monitor cloud platform performance, stability, and costs, implementing improvements to optimize resource utilization and operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring all standards and procedures are properly recorded and followed.
