Application Developer (Full Stack)

About The Role
ADP Technology Services is hiring Application Developers to design, build, and deliver high-quality full-stack software solutions that support ADP's Human Capital Management (HCM) platforms — including Time management / timekeeping products (eTime, Workforce Manager, and related Time as a Service capabilities).
You will work across the entire technology stack, collaborating with product managers, UX designers, architects, and other engineers to create scalable, reliable, and user-friendly applications that help clients manage employee time, attendance, scheduling, and related workforce processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, design, construction, testing, reviews, demonstrations, and deployment.
- Take ownership of user stories and drive them to completion for both external-facing and internal applications.
- Design, develop, and enhance full-stack solutions using Java/Spring Boot on the backend and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or similar) on the frontend.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations; ensure seamless interaction between client-side and server-side systems.
- Write clean, testable, scalable, and efficient code; perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Create and review system, software, and functional design specifications.
- Collaborate with UX designers on wireframes and user experiences, particularly for ADP's Time management products.
- Package, configure, and deploy software using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, etc.).
- Investigate and resolve application issues; perform code reviews, refactoring, and performance optimization.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders; provide mentoring and knowledge sharing when appropriate.
- Continuously explore new technologies and best practices to improve solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field plus five (5) years of related experience or Master's degree plus two (2) years of related experience. Master's degree plus two (2) years of related experience.
- Hands-on full-stack experience that typically includes (exact combinations vary by posting):
- Backend: Java, Spring Boot / Spring Framework, J2EE, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful and SOAP web services (JSON/XML), SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar), microservices architecture.
- Frontend: React, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, Node.js, Web Components.
- Additional: Unit and integration testing (JUnit, Jest, Postman, etc.), Git/Bitbucket, CI/CD (Jenkins), Docker/Kubernetes, AWS services (Lambda, SNS, SQS, RDS, etc.), design patterns, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or supporting time & attendance, workforce management, or HCM applications.
- Familiarity with GraphQL, Kafka, or additional cloud-native tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
