About XpertDox
XpertDox, Inc. is a physician-founded, venture-backed healthcare AI company headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, with a global delivery team in India. Our platform, XpertCoding, autonomously codes outpatient medical claims directly from clinical documentation using neural networks, machine learning, and natural language processing.
Position Summary
You own XpertDox's web platforms end to end: the client-facing analytics and reporting product that healthcare executives, practice managers, and billers use every day, and the internal applications the company runs its operations on. Ownership covers both the engineering and the product requirements for these platforms, so you decide what gets built and how well it gets built. The engineering team that builds with you is part of our global delivery team in Noida, India, which means leading through clear written specifications, disciplined asynchronous review, and standards that hold when you are not in the room. The role splits roughly evenly between writing production code and leading that team. It is not a fit for someone who wants to stop coding, and it is not a fit for someone who wants to only code. Because these applications support clinical and financial decisions in an environment governed by HIPAA, SOC 2 Type 2, and ISO 27001, quality and reliability are how the product is judged, and you are accountable for raising the bar on everything that ships.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Own the client-facing and internal web application portfolio, including the analytics and reporting product and the applications that support operations, client success, and administrative workflows.
- Own product requirements for the web platforms: gather needs from clients and internal teams, write the specifications, and set priorities for the engineering team.
- Own frontend and backend architecture, including the data access patterns the reporting layer needs as client history grows.
- Set and enforce UI and UX standards across every platform, including a shared component system, consistent interaction patterns, and accessibility.
- Write production code and review the team's code. Set the technical standard by demonstrating it.
- Define the engineering standards the Noida team works to: specifications, code review, testing, and release discipline.
- Own release quality, so that what ships to clients is complete, tested, and consistent with the rest of the platform.
- Maintain the security and privacy posture of every application surface, including access control, tenant isolation, and safe handling of protected health information.
Required Qualifications
- 8 or more years building production web applications, including meaningful time in a lead or director capacity, with current hands-on ability.
- Deep React and TypeScript expertise across component architecture, state management, and performance work on data-heavy interfaces.
- Strong Node.js backend experience across API design, authentication and authorization, and integration with relational and document data stores.
- Experience leading engineering teams in India or across multiple time zones.
- Production experience on a major cloud platform, ideally AWS.
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare technology background, particularly applications that handle protected health information under HIPAA.
- A background bridging design and engineering, or formal design training alongside an engineering career.
- Experience taking a product from functional to polished, and the change management that comes with it.
Location and Schedule
This position is on-site at our Scottsdale, Arizona headquarters, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. It is not a remote or hybrid role. Candidates from anywhere in the United States are welcome to apply; relocation to the Scottsdale area is required before the start date.
Compensation
- Base salary of $120,000 to $160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
- Incentive stock options.
- Relocation assistance, reimbursed against receipts.
Benefits
- Health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- 401(k) with matching.
- Unlimited PTO and parental leave.
- Wellness program, Friday lunch, and snacks.
