A leading financial services organization is seeking a Senior Java Developer (Trading) to drive the development and enhancement of business-critical trading platforms within a mid-to-back office environment.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a team of engineers while remaining hands-on with architecture, design, and development. The successful candidate will partner closely with traders, business stakeholders, and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-performance trading solutions across the full trade lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of mid-to-back trading applications and services.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, driving engineering best practices and solution quality.
- Partner with trading desks and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver strategic technology enhancements.
- Own end-to-end delivery across the SDLC, from solution design through production deployment and support.
- Develop scalable and resilient Java applications supporting trading, order management, booking, and post-trade processing.
- Drive system performance, stability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional and global technology teams to deliver business-critical projects.
- Lead production issue investigation, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on Java Sping Boots.
- Proven experience leading development teams or acting as a technical lead within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, messaging technologies, and system integration.
- Experience supporting trading, capital markets, or investment banking platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on development responsibilities with technical leadership and project delivery.
