The expanding Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM) in the Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) is seeking outstanding physicians to join our growing clinical faculty. We welcome applications from highly motivated clinicians who are committed to providing exceptional patient care, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the education and training of residents and fellows.
We are seeking full-time clinical faculty, offering opportunities to build a practice aligned with individual interests, expertise, and career goals.
Candidates must be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary Disease and/or Critical Care Medicine, with eligibility for medical licensure in the State of California. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong clinical skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a commitment to caring for a diverse and medically complex patient population across both academic and clinical settings.
Clinical Responsibilities
Faculty will participate in a broad range of clinical activities based on their area of expertise and the needs of the Division, including:
- Inpatient Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine services
- Medical and surgical ICU coverage
- Inpatient pulmonary consultation services
- Diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures
- Care of patients with complex pulmonary and critical illness
- Outpatient pulmonary medicine practice
- Night coverage of the PCCM service line, provided within a collaborative, team-based model, working alongside a critical care fellow and/or physician extender
- Teaching and supervision of residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers
- Participation in multidisciplinary clinical programs and conferences
- Collaboration with physicians and clinical teams across Keck Medicine and USC
The position offers the opportunity to practice in a sophisticated academic medical center environment with exposure to a diverse and complex patient population, including patients with advanced pulmonary disease, malignancies, and other high-acuity medical conditions.
Academic and Professional Opportunities
As members of the Keck School of Medicine faculty, physicians will have opportunities to participate in the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care professionals. Faculty may also engage in quality improvement, program development, clinical research, and other academic activities based on their interests and career goals.
Our Division is committed to developing innovative clinical programs and expanding access to high-quality pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine throughout the USC health system and the broader Los Angeles community.
Compensation And Benefits
We offer a highly competitive compensation package and excellent benefits. Academic rank, salary, and clinical responsibilities will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall scope of the position.
The annual base salary range for this position is $260,000-$280,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market as external market and organizational considerations.
