Are you a skilled and detail-oriented professional with a passion for Python development and data analysis? E.ON UK is looking for a talented individual to join our Volume Forecasting team in a critical analytical role.
In this position, you will be supporting the Volume Forecasting team in Python model development, data analysis and operational forecasting tasks. This pivotal position will enable the team to move forward technically and will include a wide range of technical tasks. You will also be using analytical tools and methodologies to provide accurate and insightful projections essential for effective business planning and decision-making.

Main responsibilities of the role
- Working on model developments in Databricks (Python) contributing to the re-platforming work across Volume Forecasting.
- Demonstrating an aptitude for problem solving, innovation and high attention to detail.
- Using quantitative and qualitative techniques to provide high quality, accurate volume forecasts of the future energy requirements of E.ON UK’s customers, from which forward energy wholesale purchases are transacted.
- Utilising robust analytical methods generate results from inputs, while challenging and reviewing methodologies to continually improve forecasting performance.
- Demonstrate great stakeholder management; requiring a strong capability for prioritising and promoting change to meet challenging timescales, while maintaining quality and flexibility for customers.
- Building strong relationships across E.ON Energy Markets, commercial services and the wider E.ON group, actively supporting team development.
- Using operational excellence to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Contributing to ad hoc projects, as requested, supporting the wider business through use of modelling and analytical techniques to implement solutions to commercial challenges facing the business.
What we need from you
- Highly numerate with degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Strong coding skills with the ability to design and maintain.
- The ability to assimilate information quickly.
- Strong commercial analysis skills with good attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and work with imperfect/incomplete information and to use appropriate business rules and/or statistical/risk modelling techniques to manage uncertainty.
- Informal presentation skills and an ability to put across complex concepts clearly.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and interface effectively with people from all levels and parts of the organisation.
