System Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a System Engineer to serve as a key technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams. This role is responsible for supporting battery system and electrification programs through technical coordination, project support, requirements management, and cross-functional collaboration.
This position works closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams to ensure successful execution of product development and customer projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and technical project management for battery system programs.
- Develop technical layouts, concepts, and proposals in response to customer requirements and inquiries.
- Coordinate system interfaces across internal departments and act as a technical point of contact for customers.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and engineering reports.
- Coordinate with teams across multiple locations to improve project efficiency and execution.
- Support structured root cause analysis and resolution of component and system performance issues.
- Utilize engineering analysis and development tools to support project activities.
- Provide technical support across various functions within the organization.
- Assist with product commissioning activities internally and at customer locations, both onsite and remotely.
- Support prototype development, integration, testing, and validation activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Several years of experience in the automotive, electrification, energy storage, or lithium-ion battery industry.
- Knowledge of requirements management and product development processes, including IATF 16949, APQP, V-Model, or similar methodologies.
- Technical expertise in lithium-ion battery systems, energy storage systems, and/or electric vehicle powertrains.
- Understanding of advanced quality planning and quality assurance practices within engineering and product development environments.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and engineering analysis tools such as CANalyzer, MATLAB, or similar software.
- Experience supporting public transportation platforms, such as school buses or other commercial transit vehicles, is preferred.
