Who You’ll Work With
As a Migration Consultant, you will help clients move trusted, usable data from legacy systems into new business applications. You will combine data analysis, mapping, transformation development, testing, and thoughtful collaboration to deliver migrations that support system adoption, business continuity, and measurable business outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Deliver Exceptional Solutions
- Analyze source data, source systems, business processes, and target-application requirements to identify data readiness, dependencies, quality issues, and migration risks.
- Translate business and technical requirements into clear source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, data-cleansing approaches, and traceable migration documentation.
- Develop and execute data extraction, transformation, and load activities using appropriate migration, ETL/ELT, SQL, scripting, and application tools.
- Support end-to-end migration cycles, including profiling, mock conversions, lower environment data loads, validation, reconciliation, defect resolution, cutover preparation, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Apply sound data-quality, security, privacy, and governance practices; escalate risks early and help the team resolve issues while maintaining delivery momentum.
- Communicate progress, findings, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly with project teams and client stakeholders, tailoring detail to the audience.
Grow Your Expertise
- Build depth in enterprise application data models (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Anaplan, Dynamics, etc.), migration methods and patterns, and the industries, compliance regulations, and business processes served by our clients.
- Continuously improve technical and consulting skills, including practical use of automation and AI-enabled tools where they improve migration quality, efficiency, or insight.
- Document reusable mappings, test approaches, lessons learned, and delivery assets; share knowledge with teammates and contribute to migration accelerators.
- Seek feedback, learn from experienced practitioners, and coach junior team members through thoughtful review and day-to-day collaboration.
Grow and Lead Slalom
- Build trusted, inclusive working relationships with clients and teammates; listen actively to understand underlying needs and respond constructively to feedback.
- Contribute migration insights, delivery observations, and client stories to account and project leaders to help identify follow-on opportunities.
- Represent Slalom’s values through accountable self-management, collaboration, and a commitment to high-quality client outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
- 4+ years of experience in data and/or content migration, data conversion, data integration, data engineering, or a related technical consulting role; experience with enterprise application (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Anaplan, Dynamics, etc.) implementations is preferred.
- Hands-on experience analyzing data and developing migration components using SQL and one or more ETL/ELT, data integration, scripting, or migration tools (e.g., Capstorm, Data Loader, etc.).
- Working knowledge of data profiling, source-to-target mapping, transformation logic, data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and issue management.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical, well-documented data solutions.
- Familiarity with relational data models, APIs or file-based integrations, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, HCM, Finance, Supply Chain, or similar systems.
- Awareness of data governance, security, privacy, and compliance considerations in handling business data.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings clearly to both technical and business audiences.
- A collaborative, curious, and growth-oriented mindset; ability to manage competing priorities, work through ambiguity with appropriate guidance, and take ownership of commitments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% based on client and project needs.
What Success Looks Like

- Data issues, dependencies, and risks are identified early, communicated clearly, and resolved or escalated with practical recommendations.
- Clients and teammates rely on you for organized analysis, dependable development, constructive collaboration, and candid communication about progress and tradeoffs.
