IoT Integration Developer
Akvelon, a rapidly growing technology consulting and software development company, is looking for an experienced IoT Integration Developer to support a managed IoT platform integrating embedded devices and firmware, MQTT communication, backend services, Web/Mobile applications, and building automation systems.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience across both embedded/firmware and backend software development and can troubleshoot complex issues end-to-end—from physical devices and firmware through networking, MQTT, APIs, backend services, and user applications.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot IoT integration and production issues across devices, firmware, networking, backend, and UI.
- Debug embedded C/C++ firmware, device communication, logs, and connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot MQTT/ProtoBuf communication and backend services.
- Investigate APIs, databases, device-state synchronization, and Web/Mobile application issues.
- Support deployments, releases, and production stabilization.
- Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate solutions across firmware, backend, QA, DevOps, and client teams.
Required Experience
- Embedded C/C++ firmware development.
- Backend development using Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar technologies.
- IoT or hardware/software integration experience.
- MQTT, TCP/IP, RS485/Modbus, REST APIs and networking fundamentals.
- Linux, Docker, Git and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark and Postman.
- Strong debugging and root-cause-analysis skills.
- Experience working with systems that control or communicate with physical devices/equipment.
Nice to Have
Experience with building automation, smart-home systems, OTA firmware updates, React/React Native, industrial automation, or production IoT deployments.
Mandarin Chinese is beneficial but not required.
Important: This is a cross-functional IoT role. Candidates with experience exclusively in Web development or exclusively in embedded firmware without backend/networking exposure will not be a fit.
Compensation: $65-75PH, PTO, Health insurance, Sick leave.
