Role Description The Bartender role at Prophecy Social House is a full-time, on-site position based in Durham, NC. The bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, following recipes and house standards while maintaining a clean and organized bar area. Day-to-day tasks include greeting guests, taking orders, recommending drink selections, and ensuring accurate cash handling and POS transactions. The bartender will collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to support smooth service, uphold health and safety guidelines, and manage inventory of bar supplies. This role also involves providing friendly, attentive customer service, monitoring guest consumption responsibly, and contributing to an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Strong Customer Service and Communication skills to engage guests, manage orders, and resolve concerns professionally.
- Hands-on experience with Bartending and Food & Beverage service, including mixing drinks, understanding menus, and following safety standards.
- Accurate Cash Handling and POS operation skills to process payments, manage tabs, and balance transactions.
- Prior bar or restaurant experience, with knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Commitment to responsible alcohol service; relevant certifications (e.g., local alcohol server permit) are preferred.
