Job Overview
We are seeking FDEs who combine engineering expertise, business acumen, and client-facing communication skills to dive into the real-world business scenarios of overseas customers. Leveraging Alibaba Cloud's AI, data, and cloud products, you will co-build production-ready applications and solutions together with our customers.
You will participate in the end-to-end process—from business problem discovery and technical solution design through to development, deployment, and outcome validation—helping customers integrate AI capabilities into their daily operations and distilling front line practices into reusable product capabilities and industry solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Immerse in customer business and define delivery objectives. Collaborate closely with customer business and technical teams to map out business processes, system architectures, and data landscapes. Identify high-value scenarios and define project scope, technical paths, and measurable success criteria.
- Build hands-on, from prototype to production. Rapidly build prototypes using large language models, Agents, and cloud services. Drive core code development, system integration, and deployment, iterating continuously until the application runs reliably in production.
- Integrate enterprise systems and data. Connect to customers' existing APIs, databases, knowledge bases, and business systems. Resolve challenges around data quality, permissions, networking, and legacy system adaptation. Participate in data migration, data pipeline construction, and cloud architecture modernization as needed.
- Ensure application effectiveness and operational quality. Establish evaluation, monitoring, and troubleshooting mechanisms. Continuously optimize task completion rates, accuracy, response latency, and operating costs to meet customer requirements for security, reliability, and maintainability.
- Drive customer adoption. Conduct on-site co-building, technical training, and knowledge transfer with customer engineering teams. Promote integration of applications into business workflows, track usage and business impact, and identify follow-up improvement opportunities.
- Codify experience and drive product iteration. Translate common needs and technical challenges from projects into reusable components, Agent Skills, integration templates, and implementation methodologies. Collaborate with product and R&D teams to drive improvements.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field—or equivalent practical expertise. 3+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or customer-facing technical delivery.
- Solid programming and debugging skills. Proficient in at least one of Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript. Capable of independently developing critical modules, integrating APIs, and troubleshooting production issues.
- Deep project experience in at least one of the following areas: AI applications and Agents, database migration and modernization, or big data platforms and data engineering. Ability to clearly articulate the technical work you owned and the business outcomes you delivered.
- Hands-on experience with large language model applications. Understanding of prompt engineering, RAG, tool calling, Agent workflows, and effect evaluation. Adept at using AI coding tools to boost development efficiency, with the ability to verify and optimize generated code.
- Familiarity with cloud application architecture and engineering delivery processes. Practical experience with API/SDK integration, automated deployment, monitoring, and operations. Understanding of permission and data security requirements in enterprise environments.
- Ability to communicate directly with customers, break down ambiguous requirements into actionable tasks, proactively drive work forward under conditions of incomplete information and changing requirements, and take ownership of delivery outcomes.
- Professional working proficiency in English, including technical discussions, solution presentations, and documentation writing. Ability to work across time zones and travel to overseas customer sites as needed by the project.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep business and technical expertise in finance, retail, or digital-native enterprises. Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or public sector is also valuable.
- Experience with enterprise-grade Agent platforms, complex tool calling, multi-agent collaboration, AI coding tool adoption, or multimodal application deployment.
- Experience with large-scale database migration, big data platform construction, core business system modernization, or multinational enterprise projects.
- Prior experience as an FDE, technical consultant, customer joint-development lead, or in a technical Start-up.
- Language capabilities required by target markets, such as Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic.
