Responsibilities
Noblis is seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer to work in dynamic mission-oriented environment within McLean, Virginia. As an AI Engineer you will work with mission users to understand requirements, and partner with data engineers to transform complex datasets into actionable insights, automate analyst workflows, and deliver scalable, reliable AI capabilities aligned with mission objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with mission users and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and translate operational requirements into well-defined AI/ML solution designs that address mission-critical objectives.
- Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI solutions—including large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and agentic AI applications—within secure, classified environments.
- Partner with data engineers to ingest, transform, and curate complex datasets, ensuring data quality and readiness for model training, evaluation, and inference.
- Build and maintain automated machine learning (ML) pipelines using Python, incorporating prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and model evaluation to accelerate delivery of AI capabilities.
- Conduct A/B testing, performance benchmarking, and production monitoring of deployed models to ensure reliability, accuracy, and continuous improvement over time.
- Automate analyst workflows by integrating AI-driven tools and capabilities into existing mission systems, reducing manual effort and enabling faster, data-informed decision-making.
- Ensure all AI solutions comply with security protocols, accreditation requirements, and intelligence community standards for operating within sensitive and classified environments.
- Communicate technical findings, model performance metrics, and solution recommendations to both technical teams and non-technical mission stakeholders through clear documentation and briefings.
Required Qualifications
- Experience designing, building, and deploying production AI solutions supporting mission operations.
- Experience developing large language models (LLM), natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and agentic AI applications, and integrating them into secure environments using Python and automated machine learning (ML) pipelines.
- Experience with prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning, model evaluation, A/B testing, and production monitoring.
Required Minimum Skills And Knowledge
- US Citizenship is required.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

- Compensation: $90,700 - $141,775
- Senior Level:
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience OR Master’s Degree with 1 years of experience OR PhD with 0 years of experience OR Associate's degree with 6 years of experience OR High-School with 9 years of experience
- Compensation: $109,800 - $171,525
Travel up to 10% within US

Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working within the counterterrorism mission area.
- Prior experience working within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).
- Prior experience working with an intelligence community department or agency.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
